Last night was quite possibly the longest night ever... Sleeping in a hospital is hard enough as it as and then to add the news we got yesterday. It all seems so surreal. Just six months ago we were celebrating Jody's one year cancer free anniversary in Virginia while he was graduating with his doctorate.

Jody has been very positive since he got the news yesterday. He has continually told me he will fight it till there is nothing left. I just don't believe this is his time. We have came through to much for the Big Guy upstairs to take him home now.

I went out to get Jody lunch today and I came back to him reading about stage IV esophageal cancer on google. I think I may have to take the computer away from him. The statistics he's reading has him a little worried. We aren't having any of that!

730pm

Dr. Miller came in to see us. He said while he was at the cancer center today the team had a round table about Jody and it was all very positive. Not only will he get chemo but, they will do radiation which was previously told to us he would not be a candidate. They will send the tissue out they took from him yesterday and see what treatment works. Dr. Miller said it takes 10-14 days to get results and he would see us at the cancer center on the 22nd for a follow up and we would see our Oncologist and Radiation Oncologist on the 21st. Jody will probably have his port put in at this time. It is looking like one to two 5 day treatments of radiation back to back right after the first round of six chemo treatments.

Jody should get his drain tube out of his chest tomorrow and then we will get to go home!
