I always meant to go back in a week or so ago and update but, life has just been crazy. Jody was extremely sick after the last chemo. He spent a few days in bed dry heaving and then slept for a couple days straight. Thank goodness he started feeling a little better the week before Mother's Day I was crazy busy that week getting orders out.

Mother's Day we drove back to the cancer center and had all his appointments on Monday. The blood work showed the numbers are going up again and not leveling. We were not happy when they did not change the chemo that they had talked about two visits ago but, we saw the nurse practitioner and it was out of her hands. I have told them we do not want to see anyone but, our dr. again. It seems Jody is a "problem" case and it always happens when we don't see our dr. At this point we could come home and wait two weeks until his next appt or get the same chemo and talk to the dr. when we go back. It did take a little convincing to get Jody to do this chemo. He said as hard as it is he can do it and be sick for two weeks when he thinks it's working and one day there is an end. This time he said he didn't want to do it because it's not working. He didn't want to be sick for two weeks for something that doesn't work. After we talked and I told him maybe the numbers would have been much higher than they are without this one, he agreed to do it. He said they will have to have something in place next time though because if the numbers aren't going down he will not do this again.

Tuesday he was feeling ok but, I could tell by the evening he was getting tired very tired as the steroids wore off. Wednesday he was tired but, we had to go to the car place. The abs system completely went out on the loaner car and we lost the brakes on our way home Tuesday. They said our car is finally ready but, they lost the key fob and had to order another one. This was Jody's first outing in almost two months other than chemo trip. By the time we got home from taking care of the car he went straight to bed. He slept the rest of Wednesday and all day Thursday. No dry heaving this time! I started him on some nausea pills Tuesday night and I think we got through what would normally be the worst of it with no stomach sickness. He got up this morning and said he's still tired but, not feeling horrible. He's eating good. I'm sure he will fall back asleep soon. He wants to go to both Gannon's graduation events this weekend so, he needs all the rest he can get. We are thankful it worked out that Jody can be at the graduation celebrations and we can pull the car right up. He can be comfortable, socially distanced, and be able to watch everything.

We go back to the center the Wednesday the 27th for scans and see the dr. on the 28th. At this point it looks like we will be staying until Monday or Tuesday. He should be getting the new chemo with the five day pump. I will try to keep everyone posted and definitely update the blog after our appointments.
