It has been a week since Jody has really eaten and over a week since he has been able to eat and not have it come right out. Last night it was decided he would have a picc line put in and receive total parental nutrition via the picc line until his enteritis resolved and he could tolerate food again. Before they could do the picc line today he had to get two bags of plasma because his inr was high. He tolerated the plasma well and already had the picc line put in today. Tonight they will hang the first bag of tpn. We are anxious to see what a difference it will make in him getting some strength back.

Yesterday we really struggled to get his pain under control. Finally around 830 pm we did and he didn't have a lot of pain again until this afternoon around 2. Previously the pain was almost constant and now it seems to be mainly when he tries to eat a couple bites. We tried a little applesauce today and that did not go well.

The hands and feet are still very red in appearance and dry but, the pain in them he says is gone. All we need now is for him to get his strength back and the enteritis to go down.

We won't be going home by the weekend because of the picc line. He has to be here for three nights with the line to make sure all is good and then we can head home. He should be getting some strength back then and feeling better.
