Jody's out of surgery and in ICU. The actual surgery was 3.5 hours long. The surgeon said the cancer had spread from the pleural lining in the chest to the visceral lining on the lungs. He was able to scrape all the pleural lining out and clip away any visceral lining around the lungs with cancer on it. He did say that there is a spot on the aorta behind the lungs about the size of a postage stamp that is thick and he could not get it. If he attempted to take it out it would paralyze him if it did not kill him. After they cleaned his chest out they inserted two tubes to run the hot chemo through his chest for another hour. He's now resting and will get to go home more than likely sometime next week when the chest tubes are able to come out. In a few weeks we will have to come back for 4-5 radiation treatments to try to knock out the spot on his aorta.

I spoke with the lead pathologist multiple times today and confirmed that the tissue was fedex overnighted to the Weisenthal group for the testing and the other part of the tissue was sent out for foundation testing. We should have a better idea of the exact cost of the Weisenthal testing next week when he is able after they knows how many test they are able to run. We think we are just about 1/3 of the way to covering the expenses with what everyone donated. Thank you again for all the love, support, prayers, and donations.
