We did get home from New York last Wednesday. There really is no place like home. After travelling sometimes weekly for Jody's chemo and staying in hotels for sometimes up to ten days at a time we appreciate our home more than ever. It has taken me a few days to decompress and get to the blog update. We are waiting on insurance to approve the infusion of one of the three chemos. Hopefully, that will happen any day now. We go back on this week on Thursday for Jody's treatment. He will be on three chemo's. We know that insurance will pay for one of the chemo pills but, will not pay for the other chemo pill and we are waiting to hear on the chemo infusion. We thought initially it would be three weeks on and two weeks off but. now it looks as though we will go to New York every other week for 3-5 days at a time.
I want everyone to know how incredibly grateful we are for all of the donations, fundraisers, and most of all prayers and positive thoughts. We truly have the most incredible family, friends, and church family. Without all of you we know without a doubt that we would not have been able to get the Weisenthal testing done or afford to make trips to New York every other week if not for the generosity and the prayers of everyone. Jody and I both know that no matter what happens from here forward we will have done everything possible to fight this cancer. Please continue to pray and send positive thoughts our way as we could be making these trips for a few months. If this treatment starts working we are hopeful to find a local oncologist that will continue the treatment. We will still have the expense of the portion of the chemo that is not covered by insurance but, could possibly not have the added expense of trips to New York.
